One team, in house
Writers, editors, designers, and producers work the same project. You are not passed between disconnected freelancers who have never spoken.
Greenwood
01 San Francisco publishing studio
Greenwood is the house for authors who want the full craft in one place: writing, editing, covers, illustration, marketing, and a print and ebook release. The copyright stays yours. The royalties stay yours.
02 The work
Some authors arrive with a finished draft. Others arrive with a lived experience and a blank page. Greenwood meets the manuscript where it is, then walks it through editing, design, and publication without handing you off to a stranger at every stage.
The first conversation is quiet and practical. We ask what the book is for, who it is for, and how finished the pages are. Then we recommend a path, a timeline, and nothing you did not ask about.
Prepared for the shelves readers already use
03 Genres
A memoir, a novel, a field guide, and a picture book are not the same assignment. Greenwood staffs the book to the genre, the reader, and the voice you want to keep.
04 The moment
You have already done the private work of writing it down. Greenwood is the studio that turns those pages into a book people can find, hold, and finish. Waiting does not improve a manuscript. A good edit does.
05 Services
Editors, writers, designers, illustrators, and publishing producers share the same project. The book does not change personality halfway through.
The shelf
Fiction, memoir, faith, and children’s books. Covers built to be held, not only uploaded.
07 Why Greenwood
Writers, editors, designers, and producers work the same project. You are not passed between disconnected freelancers who have never spoken.
This is a publishing service, not a house that buys your copyright. You keep ownership of the work and the royalties it earns.
Consultation, manuscript, edit, design, then release. Each stage has a purpose, and you always know which one you are in.
08 The path
The sequence is the same whether we are ghostwriting from interviews or publishing a draft that is already close. Only the depth of each stage changes.
A free conversation about the book, the reader, and the timeline. You leave with a recommended path, not a script.
Ghostwriting and developmental work happen beside you, in your voice, from notes, interviews, or the draft you already have.
Structure first, then sentences, then grammar and a final proof. We do not skip to commas while the chapter order is still wrong.
Cover, interior, and any illustration are built for print and for a screen, to the standards retailers expect.
ISBN, files, and distribution to major ebook and print-on-demand shelves. If you want a launch, marketing starts before the book is public.
09 Questions
If yours is not here, write to us. We would rather answer it than have you guess.
A manuscript at any stage, or a clear idea if the book still has to be written. There is no agent requirement and no demand for a perfect draft. We start with a consultation and tell you what the project actually needs.
No. Publishing is the last room in the house. We also ghostwrite, develop creative content, edit, design covers and interiors, illustrate, and market the finished book. You can use one room or the whole floor.
A book that is already written often moves from kickoff to publication in roughly six to twelve weeks, depending on length and how quickly notes come back. Ghostwriting takes longer because the book is still being made. We give you a timeline on the consultation, specific to your pages.
Yes, when that is the plan we agree on. Paperback or hardcover through print-on-demand, and an ebook for the major digital shelves, including Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, and Kobo.
Yes. A book with no introduction to its readers tends to stay quiet. Marketing can include the retail listing, a press note, author branding, email, and a practical advertising plan aimed at the people the book was written for.
10 Begin
If the book has been waiting, this is the practical first step. Tell us what it is. We will tell you how Greenwood would make it.
